Steve Hovanetz is a Liberty Christian School parent - to Seth and Kelsey and husband to Mrs. Kristi Hovanetz - a 5th Grade teacher at Liberty. The Hovanetz family have been working through a recent situation that has impacted their family greatly and need your prayers and financial help.
He was hospitalized over spring break for a dangerously low sodium level in his blood. It has been confirmed through further testing that the treatment he received resulted in an additional brain injury which has caused the Hovanetz family to upend their life to take care of Steve. He is currently in a rehab facility working with specialist daily. Due to insurance, he will soon need to move to another facility that focuses on neurological disorders. This condition will require intensive inpatient physical therapy with no guaranteed outcome and no certainty that insurance will cover the necessary costs. The best possible scenario would be for him to walk out of the Rehab facility on his own in two months. The doctors have indicated that about 33% of patients recover from the type of diagnosis given to Steve.
Kristi is still teaching and keeping things going; however, Steve was the primary finanical supporter in the household, and this has created a huge financial stress on the Hovanetz family.
Their daughter Kelsey will graduate from Liberty Christian School in the spring and she is praying her Dad will be able to attend graduation. Seth is in the Upper school and is looking forward to his Dad attending sporting events again soon.
This was a completely unexpected incident for the Hovanetz family. Teachers at LCS are here serving the Lord and enriching our children with their love, faith and knowledge. They are trusting God each day and every step of the way.
We would like to ask for your prayers regarding his recovery as he works to improve each day.
