Houston Youth Walkout

Arm us with books… Not guns.

On April 20th, students from schools all over Houston will be walking out to City Hall in support of common sense gun laws. We are fed up with the lack of concern for schools to be safe places that harbor learning and growing. Inspired by our peers at Parkland, and around the country, we have decided that now is the time to take a stand and fight for the right to a safe school for all generations to come.

We will be marching for safer schools through more effective gun laws, such as banning assault rifles, more comprehensive background checks, mandatory waiting times, and raising the minimum age to buy a firearm.

Houston Youth Walkout is created and run by high school students from all over the city. We ask for your support to help make the message of our movement as far reaching as possible.

The money from this fund will pay for permits, buses for schools to attend, porta-potties, publicity (flyers and website), etc. All leftover funds will be donated to organizations for gun reform.
