Dear Friends and Film Enthusiasts,

Houston is a sprawling metropolis, rich in history, culture, and business. The one who created it all wouldn’t be a bit surprised. Nor, would she be surprised that history has relegated her memory to that of “a charming hostess,” while her inexperienced husband and brother-in-law, are still credited solely as “Houston’s Co-Founders.”

Interestingly, her husband spent 13-years in Houston before signing over 100% of his property to Charlotte who stayed on as one of Houston’s most respected business, and charity, leaders for over 50-years!

The city of Houston, was conceived, birthed and nurtured for its first half-century by this overlooked, yet oh so powerful woman, Charlotte Baldwin Allen, who helped her father operate . . . the port town he dreamed up, created and ran, Baldwinville, New York. She was also a savvy businesswoman in her own right.

Today, Houston stands tall as a testament to her vision and resilience. Yet, despite her monumental contributions, her story remains completely untold. This is our chance to change that narrative and shine a spotlight on a real hero of our past. We aim to produce a groundbreaking film that introduces Charlotte's captivating story.
