Housing support for interabled couple
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mia and my partner is Evee. We're a young couple living in WA, and we have been struggling to pay rent and survive.
We recently received a no-grounds eviction, and SBS covered our story here, for more information: https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/couple-getting-eviction-notice-five-days-before-christmas/az8upqokr
We need to move by the 21st of Feb, but between Evee, myself, and our roommate, we currently pay $750 for a half-unlivable house. We haven't had a kitchen for 4 weeks as of writing this, as renovations are being done and not finished yet. The main bathroom shower floods after a minute, and the other light flickers so intensely that it's like a strobe light, and my partner and I are both photosensitive.
I am physically disabled and we have been unable to find accessible housing. Because of my disabilities, I currently can't work. What we get from Centrelink and my partner's work is not supporting us right now. We have to skip meals and buying things like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, just so that we can live here. Even then, we end up with nothing by the end and often have to borrow from friends and family. We are on the government housing like for accessible and affordable housing, but we need somewhere between now and then. We are inspecting an apartment within a week.
The money donated will be used for bond for a new place, paying a moving company/business, petrol for going back and forth, and food until we're settled in a place that we can cook.
