We're asking you to help someone we've come to care about deeply. Her name is Freja, and she's spent this year facing more than anyone should have to face alone.
Freja has been living on the streets of Dublin for over 8 months. Behind that single fact sits a tangle of barriers that feed each other: without an ID she can't access housing or emergency accommodation, work, and so many other services. Every door that should open to her is locked, and not because she hasn't tried.
Recently Freya was the victim of a violent assault. She is still carrying the physical and emotional weight of that. Living unhoused means facing each day without the safety most of us take for granted. On top of that, her gender affirming care was taken from her and thrown into the Liffey a few months ago, cutting her off from something essential to her health and wellbeing.
This is where you come in. We've sat down with Freya and worked out exactly what she needs to start moving forward. Your donations will go directly towards:
- safe, stable accommodation so she has somewhere secure to sleep
- an ID and passport so she can access housing, work, and services
- restoring her gender affirming care
- essential day to day needs while she gets back on her feet
- a small safety net for the basics as she rebuilds
Every euro is accounted for, and we'll keep all her supporters updated along the way.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, to be seen, and to get a fair chance to build a life. Help us give Freya a safe place to begin again.
