Housing in Paradise (HIP) is a group of neighbors facilitating creative solutions to the problem of homelessness on The Ridge. Many experts agree that people experiencing homelessness have the most chance of success when they are provided with housing first and then supported in addressing their other issues.
More and more people simply can't afford to rent a place on The Ridge without assistance. That's where we come in.
We are raising money so we can step in as lessees of multiple-bedroom rentals that can house 2-5 members of our community who need an affordable place to live.
To accomplish this, we have started a nonprofit (HIP) and will support our tenants with workshops in cooking, cleaning, gardening, being a good neighbor, and whatever else they need to create a home for themselves.
