Housing for Single Mom Donna and Daughter Maggi

Donation protected

This is my beautiful daughter, Maggi. We love being together playing with her dolls, making up silly songs and reading books. Pretty much, she loves to throw anything she gets her hands on. Making messes are her thing!

I’m a newly single mom and working hard to establish a home for myself and disabled daughter, Maggi. I’m currently working for Lyft and have much love and prayer support from church, friends, family and social workers. It’s very difficult to get established in a home on my own with one income. Currently, I drive for LYFT and am also applying for other jobs.  There are tons out there.  She is 16 years old and has had over 34 procedures.  She suffers from an incredibly rare genetic syndrome.  Maggi's father and I worked from home since the day she came home from NICU in May 2005.  We have always put her care first and were very creative in bringing in income by working creatively online, crafts, baking and landscaping for others.  Everyone has felt the economic impact of the unfortunate events in the last year and a half. It was especially difficult for myself, going through a divorce. We need a lot of help getting started. Basically, I'm starting from nothing.  Due to our dedication to her, we weren't the most wealthy and there wasn't truly funds to start my life over with Maggi.  Her father takes excellent care for her and lives in an already established home.  I'm thankful for the love from him and the stability.  I don't want to get into too much of personal matters with divorce, my focus is on having Christmas with Maggi in our own home, with our own bedroom to snuggle in and a Christmas tree for Santa to visit.  Due to her medical condition/immune compromised/lung disease, the need for us to have our own space is crucial to her health.  She is medically fragile, needs room to move about in her chair and a place to have quality, loving time and care with mommy.  Her next procedure is being discussed with her surgical team in December.  She had a procedure a few months ago and it looks like it is time to replace the growth rod in her spine for her thoracic scoliosis.  This is crucial to giving her lungs room to function.

if you have any questions about her health or diagnosis, you can email me. She’s been tough and strong with each health challenge. Maggi deserves the BEST LIFE.  She needs me.  We have a lot of playing, worshiping and praying to do together.  A place to do the daily simple things we often take for granted.
