Dear friends, family and the big hearted.
My sister Judy is 75 and her son, Jeffrey is 38 and their dog Willy is 9. They arrived in Marin at the end of July, hoping for a new life and to be closer to family since her health is now declining. She has heart and mobility issues. Jeffrey, the trooper, who was born with the syndrome, Neurofibromatosis, that has caused some disabilities, has worked for the last 15 years at Walmart as a cart pusher in Arizona, outside all day in the parking lot in over 100 degree weather. Unfortunately due to covid and the recent wild fires it is almost impossible to find them subsidized housing and to find Jeffrey a job that is close by since he cannot drive. They have been staying in an extended stay hotel and now sadly their money has run out and their only assets are her car and social security. We are looking for temporary or long term affordable housing for them and a monetary cushion to get them back on their feet. We are hoping that we can find something in Marin or close by but is so expensive that we fear we might have to send them back to Arizona. Any financial help or housing and job leads is greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much! Love, Susan woods
