Housing for Grace, Kiwanis for Kenya!
Donation protected
Meet Grace. Grace is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Kajiado, the first Kiwanis Club in the nation of Kenya. She is her country's first Kiwanis Lt. Governor!
Grace lived on a plot of land owned by a concrete corporation, who decided that they wanted access to the land. More than 500 buildings, including Grace's home and her childrens' school, stood on this land.
The courts ruled in favor of the concrete company, and the nation's President allowed the demolition to proceed. Grace lost her home and her children lost their school as one by one, the buildings came down.
Housing costs in Kenya are not nearly as expensive as they are in the USA. Grace has another plot of land on which she can build, but she lacks the funds to do so. Just $5,400 (USA) can allow Grace to construct a small but habitable home, and potentially put her kids back in school with the supplies they need to continue their education.
Can we find ten Kiwanis clubs willing to contribute $500 each? Can we find Kiwanians willing to contribute $10, $20, $50, or $100 to help Grace start her life again?
Your investment will not only help Grace and her family get back on her feet, but you will be supporting a fellow Kiwanian, and making an investment into the future of Kiwanis in Africa. Please give anything you can.
