June 29, 2023 Update: Al Jensen died peacefully in his sleep this past Tuesday AM after a long and rewarding life. THANK YOU to everyone who donated over the past three years; by working together, we were able to help him live his final years with dignity.

Our friend Al Jensen is turning 89 this weekend!

Some will remember that in November 2020, 94 people came together on GoFundMe to raise $10,400 to supplement his living expenses. Al lives in a bare-bones independent living apartment in Sacramento. He's been supplementing his very modest Social Security and VA Benefits with the proceeds raised in 2020.

Al's close friend Molly carefully doled out that money and stretched it till August 2022. Unfortunately, Al will be evicted in September as he will not have enough to cover his rent on Sept 1.

Although Al's friends help him with laundry, medication management, shopping and cleaning, none of us are in a position to supplement his entire monthly deficit of $1,000. We hope that by working together, we can create a miracle and keep him off the streets.

Covering Al's expenses for a year will cost $12,000. (12 months x $1,000 a month) We invite you to join us in supporting him.

During a recent phone conversation, Al ruefully said, `I didn't think I would live this long.' It's a fear that many single people with no children deal with. Working together, we hope to help Al stay in his apartment as long as he can. (If you believe in karma, this is a great way to invest in YOUR karma.)
