Help Me Get Back on My Feet After 10 Months of Unemployment

Hi, my name is Wyatt and I’m reaching out with humility and hope.

After nearly 10 months of unemployment and exhausting every personal resource, I’ve hit a wall — and I need your help to stay afloat while I continue my job search.

What Happened

I lost my job in July 2024. It was a toxic environment that severely impacted my mental health, but I kept pushing until I couldn’t anymore. Since then, I’ve applied to over 500 jobs, landed fewer than 20 interviews, and received one offer — which was later rescinded. I’ve picked up short-term contract work where I could (including post-hurricane response work), but that ended in November.

Despite my best efforts — selling my motorcycles, fishing gear, spare music equipment, and stretching every dollar — I’ve reached the end of my options. Even my medication, which helped keep depression and anxiety at bay, has run out due to lack of funds.

What I Need Help With

I have a couple of very promising job interviews coming up, but I’m blocked by practical limitations: no reliable transportation, no appropriate clothes, and no money left for essentials.

I’m asking for $2,500, which will help cover:

$1400 – Rent (2 months, to avoid eviction)

$400 – Car stuff (registration, insurance, repair parts (wheel bearings, suspension parts, CV axle — I’ll do the labor myself)

$250 – Medication to keep me well enough to keep moving forward

$450 – Basic business clothes (shoes, shirt, slacks) and groceries while I keep applying

Why This Matters

I’m not asking for a handout — just a lifeline. I’m motivated, skilled (IT support, systems administration, business analysis), and deeply committed to getting back to work. I just need a little help bridging the gap between today and that next opportunity.

I’ve already done everything I could think of to stay afloat. Now, I’m asking for support so I can show up — to job interviews, to potential employers, and to my life — without falling apart under the weight of basic survival.

How You Can Help

If you’re in a position to donate, any amount is deeply appreciated. If not, sharing this with others or sending job leads would be just as valuable.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m incredibly grateful for any support you can offer — it truly makes a difference.
