Household and medical expenses during recovery

Hi. My name is Tyler Hendrix. I am 39 years old (today) and a single mother to 2 boys ages 16 and 8. Four years ago I had a brain tumor (golf ball size) removed at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville FL. They were not able to take it all because it may cause partial or total loss of the following -face paralization, hearing, sight, speaking, smell, and/or any combination of these. The tumor has grown back and my Mom and I are staying at Hope Lodge (American Cancer Society) at Emory University Campus property. I am undergoing proton radiation in an effort to stop the tumor growing and hopefully shrink it some. I have not been able to work since the first tumor as I had also previously suffered a serious head injury in a car accident causing short term memory loss, serious vertigo, nausea, dizziness due to equilibrium issues and headaches. On top of this I have had terrible migraines that last three days or more days until I go to ER. Emory has tried different meds for this including Botox (too bad they don’t use it on my face) just my head.
Anyone who knows me will tell you I have always been a hard worker, dependable, and dedicated. While still in high school I cut grass for older people in the neighborhood, babysat, and lifeguarded 3 years.I finished high school and nursing school with all As & Bs. I decided I wanted to work with kids so I earned a Daycare Director Certification. I worked with Elementary Special Needs children grades K-4 for 10 years, completing numerous continuing education programs. I finally filed Disability 2+ years ago, still waiting (anyone will tell you this is not a simple process).
At this point I need temporary help to support myself and my boys. I was trying to do odds and end jobs to make ends meet. Now I can’t even do that. This is not easy for me - to ask for help. It is humbling, and to be honest embarrassing but unfortunately necessary. I can’t let my pride cause my children to do without or lose our home. I still have a house payment, Car payment, household bills and daily living expenses.
My Mom has been helping but she can’t do it all and the funds I do have won’t cover the bills.
Some may say if you can write like this you shouldn’t need help. I’ll tell you a secret, my Mom, Dixie Beckham helped me mostly. She has a gift that way. As difficult as it is to ask for help this is where I find myself. So if you are able and want to make a donation I thank you. If not please share this and pray for our family as we navigate through this hard time.
