A Home for Our Girls

Tax deductible
I honestly did not know how to break the news to the Pennies for Haiti family. It started out such a difficult and painful news but now…all I can say is Praise the Lord!!! We have had such a crazy year! Starting with our most recent update… Last week a fight broke out at the girls’ house and a few of the girls decided they no longer wanted to live with each other. The news surprised both my staff and I but we reluctantly made the arrangements as the request was accompanied by life threating threats.

We did not realize the girls were so unhappy. So as requested I made the necessary arrangements for them to be returned to the old orphanage. They were due to leave on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. In a surprise twist however 7 girls decided that they would not leave the house, they would prefer to run away than go back to the old orphanage. So our home has now been reduced to 14 girls and my two boys. Next update… Kids are kids no matter their abilities or disabilities! When thinking of opening a home for the girls my choice was always to ensure it was for girls who really needed it. God has finally made my desire a reality.

We recently welcomed two girls with a different type of disabilities in our home. Our most visual disability is Clarissa who has both of her legs bent behind her. She actually is able to not only walk but also run on her knees. In the midst of these changes, we have been trying to figure out where we would move the girls as our lease is up at our current home; we had been living month to month and the landlord has asked us to give him his house back. We now need to secure a home for our girls. My staff and I have been searching for a new house for them to live because raising full $10K for our current home has been really difficult. The rent is paid in full here in Haiti. Just today we found a house that is adequate for our needs. It will cost $4K for the year. I hope you can help us surpass this need because our financial difficulties have left us with much debt and upcoming school fees to pay.

Please join us by becoming an ambassador of change for Pennies for Haiti and blessing us with the necessary funds to be once more financially stable.
