House Robbery Relief Fund for The Picarello‘s
Donation protected
Hello - I am writing on behalf of our dear friends Steve and Cristina Picarello. On Wednesday, May 17, they arrived home after school with their four boys only to discover that their house had been not only broken into and robbed but violently ransacked. Cristina ran to her boys as she heard them scream in horror upon finding out that their rooms had been turned upside down. Money and gift cards each boy had been saving were taken, along with irreplaceable and priceless items, including their communion crosses. Cristina discovered that all her jewelry, including the cross she received on her communion day, had also been taken.
Money that Cristina and Steve had been saving for summer activities with the boys was also taken. The robbers didn’t stop at that; however, they continued to smash and break statues and anything else they could get their hands on.
The Picarello’s didn’t just lose physical and sentimental mementos, but rather their sense of safety and comfort in their own home.
Cristina kept a wallet in her drawer with prayer cards she had saved over the years from loved ones she and Steve had lost. It meant everything to her, and it, too, had been taken.
Countless items were smashed and strewn about the house.
They are in the process of recovering both emotionally and monetarily. Cristina and Steve are hard-working people and respected members of our community.
They have a lot of work ahead of them, including replacing all that was damaged, adding a security system that covers every door and window, and placing cameras all around the house.
Anyone who knows the Picarellos knows that they would be the first people to show up and offer their support to a friend or member of their community in need. My daughter happens to babysit and help care for all four of their boys over the summer. She is treated like family. The boys are kind and sweet, and gentle and deserve nothing but happiness and grace.
If you can help and donate today, we thank you.
Giving is not just about donating. It’s about making a difference.
If you have a moment, please take the time to share this with your community.
With love and gratitude,
Team Picarello
