I'm the granddaughter of Betty. She lived in a house on Maysville Road and unfortunately, it was struck by lightning and caught on fire. She lost everything in her home: all of her clothes, photos, dentures, and freezers full of food from her garden. My grandmother has lived in this home her entire life. She raised her family in that home; I was raised in that home. My grandmother has given to the community her entire life; she has worked herself to the bone for everything she owned. She escaped the fire with a deep cut on her leg, and the stress of the event caused her to have a heart attack. She was transported via EMS to Huntsville Hospital where they found the heart attack had occurred. I'm asking for help for her to start to rebuild and hopefully cover some medical expenses. She had no home insurance and, even though she has very little income, doesn't qualify for medical insurance. Every little bit will help, thanks so much!
