This is an effort to raise funds for my cousin William (also known as Liam and Billy) and his young son Connor. William and his husband Joshua have had an impact on so many peoples lives. They have been foster parents for the last two plus years, temporarily raising 6 children of which 4 were newborns. They were part of a group of community members trying to change the perception and the way foster care works through The Quality Parenting Initiative. Their life in recovery have given them a lens of compassion to struggling parents. Please read the article below:
Want to be a parent? SF aims to recruit 100 foster families to keep kids in the city - SFChronicle.com
On Saturday May 2, 2020 William and his husband Joshua “J.R.” moved from San Francisco to Guerneville Ca. to make a better life for young son Connor. They had found a home that would accommodate Connor’s growing physical needs and would allow him access to the entire house and the outdoors in a wheelchair. After a day of unpacking and making their new house a home, Joshua’s heart, so full of love stopped beating. The paramedics worked tirelessly for 45 minutes but were not able to start his heart again.
The funds from this campaign will be used to help stabilize William and Connor. William is a stay-at-home father and caregiver to Connor. With Connor’s complex physical and medical needs it is imperative for William to remain home with him.
My cousin William has always had the most genuine heart and kindest soul. It has been an absolutely blessing to see him become such an important part of the children he and Joshua have fostered and the compassionate father they have been to Connor. William and Joshua have been so generous with their love that I wanted to make sure that William could continue to stay home with Connor and care for him.
Thank you so much for your consideration in this effort. I know I can speak on the behalf of William and Connor that there are grateful for the love and support of friends and family in this heartbreaking time.
William and Joshua have touched so many peoples lives, please share this in your social media to help spread the word!
