Hello, I'm Pete Lynagh, reaching out with a heartfelt plea on behalf of my sister-in-law, Tashie Whelan, her spirited two-year-old Ryder, and her precious newborn son, who has just begun his journey in this world.

On the morning of December 1st, Tashie, a courageous single mother, was admitted to the hospital to welcome her second miracle. At 12:07 am on December 2nd, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, a moment of pure joy and hope.

In an act of love and support, a few of Tashie's friends decided to surprise her by tidying her home, creating a warm, welcoming space for her much-anticipated return. However, what they discovered upon arrival was heart-wrenching: Tashie's home had been devastated by a catastrophic flood, with water claiming every corner, leaving destruction in its wake.

This calamity struck while Tashie was in the hospital giving birth, oblivious to the chaos unfolding at home. The flood, caused by a burst pipe, has left her beautiful home in ruins – new wooden floors ruined, walls soaked, cherished possessions, and memories destroyed and lost.

Amidst the joy of new life (and the recovery from an intense labour), Tashie was confronted with a harsh reality: her home insurance had lapsed. In the whirlwind of single motherhood and the final stages of pregnancy, such an oversight, though deeply regrettable, is painfully understandable.

The damage is extensive and heart-breaking. Floors need replacing, walls require repair, and countless personal items and essentials have been irrevocably damaged. This disaster, occurring just as we approach Christmas, feels like a cruel twist of fate.

In response, I've established this fundraising campaign to rally support for Tashie and her little ones. Without insurance, the burden of rebuilding their lives is immense, a challenge too heavy for one person to shoulder alone.

Your donation, no matter the size, is more than a gift; it's a tangible support in their hour of need. Every contribution will directly aid Tashie and her family in restoring their home and recovering from this unforeseen tragedy.

Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your willingness to stand with Tashie and her children during this challenging time. Your support is not just appreciated – it's a lifeline.
