Hi my name is Alisha and I am reaching out to the community, asking for help for my Mom, Faith Parker. On Sunday October 5th, 2025 a fire broke out at her rental home that was caused by the neighbouring suites E-bike battery exploding. This has been a truly scary and traumatizing experience for my Mom. Unfortunately, she had just moved into this suite 2 weeks prior and a lot of her funds were allocated to moving costs and damage deposit. Since the move was so recent, she sadly did not have the chance to obtain renters insurance as she was just settling in. This has been absolutely devastating for not only my mom but the 11 other residents of the building. My Mother is sadly displaced from her home and is currently sleeping on a friends couch. Everything in her apartment has been either burnt, water damaged or covered in soot and she is left with only remnants of everything she owned. I would not be asking for help if she truly didn’t need it . Even if it’s a small amount, any donation is greatly appreciated. The donations will cover temporary housing for my mom and her animals until rent and damage deposit are refunded; clothes, blankets furniture, food and household items.
