Dear family/friends,

As some of you may or may not be aware of , my sister Gabriela & her family with two young children aged 5 and 7 suffered the unimaginable trauma of a house fire that ultimately burned almost all of their belongings . They sadly also lost their family dog and kitten , Princess and Pepita , something that was quite difficult to come to terms with for the entire family. My sister had Princess since she was a pup , so she was very much part of the family , growing up alongside both of the kids. Pepita’s life was short , sadly not getting to live out the life she deserved.

These times have proven extremely difficult , both emotionally and financially. They are currently staying home with us at my mums house whilst they find appropriate accommodation as the Hostel they had been offered would’ve left them worse of than their current situation .

As of now , they have been allocated emergency accommodation almost 2 hours away from her children’s school. Shes already lost so much and wishes to keep the children’s lives as safe and predictable as possible, lessening the stress on them. Also at such times , where my sister and her family needs us the most , she’s forced to be so far away.

I did also want to share with you guys how important it is to be careful with electronic oil diffusers. Always make sure to check for any faults and /or unplug when not in use. The fire brigade did confirm that the fire was due to a diffuser which my sister had ordered online early January. I do want to clarify that my sister does always take precautions ensuring nothing is on, which is why we are aware it was a fault within the plug.
