On September 13, tragedy struck when a sudden and brutal house fire tore through the Delgado family’s home, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, including their dog Duke—but their lives have been turned upside down.

In just minutes, the fire destroyed everything they owned: furniture, clothing, family photos, school supplies, keepsakes, and all the daily essentials. The Delgado family is now faced with the overwhelming challenge of starting over from scratch.

They are currently staying with relatives and friends, but the road ahead will be long and incredibly difficult. Insurance can only cover so much, and the family now faces countless unexpected expenses—basic necessities, temporary housing, clothing, supplies for the kids, and eventually the cost of rebuilding or relocating.

But if you know the Delgado family, you know this: they are the heart of our Fullerton community. For years, they’ve shown up for others—especially local youth. Whether volunteering at school events, coaching teams, organizing drives, or mentoring neighborhood kids, the Delgados have always gone above and beyond to make a difference.

Their home was more than a place to live—it was a second home for many children and teens in the area, offering safety, warmth, and a sense of belonging. From sleepovers to study sessions, holiday dinners to late-night talks, the Delgado house was a place where everyone felt welcomed and loved. They have always given selflessly—never asking for anything in return.

Now, it’s our turn to give back.
