Hello, my name is Julia Bitner and I'm creating this fundraiser for my close friend, Megen Villota, along with her father. On 9/11/25, they suffered an unexpected and devastating house fire.

While they were thankfully both physically unharmed, as one can imagine, their lives have been disrupted in a serious way. They have had to evacuate their longtime home, and much of their belongings have been destroyed.

The structure of the house is still intact and can be repaired. Unfortunately, many of their treasured possessions and belongings were unsalvageable.

Although insurance will help to repair what has been damaged in the long term, for the time being, Megen’s family is rebuilding from the ground up.

Megen and her father will have to live in a hotel for up to 4-5 months before they can return home. Additionally, there were costly, precious items, like music equipment, that could not be recovered. Further, even just the costs of replacing every day items we take for granted add up quickly.

The emotional and financial losses from the fire can’t be undone, but we hope donations will help to ease their struggles at this time as much as possible.

Megen is a generous, amazing friend who would do anything for her loved ones; she and her father deserve assistance and kindness. We are asking for a goal of $15,000. These monies will assist with temporary housing, and to replace personal property not covered by insurance.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations going towards helping our friend and her family during their time of need.
