Jessica and Elizabeth Ramos, Ruben's eldest daughters, created this fundraiser.
On May 5, 2023, Ruben and his family were displaced due to a kitchen fire. The fire all but destroyed their home while the family was out doing their day-to-day errands and work obligations. After picking up their daughter from school, Gabby found their home in flames. While no one was physically harmed, most of their belongings, clothes, and furniture are in ruin due to smoke and water damage. Their home has been condemned by the county.
The family of six, including two young children, sought emergency shelter with extended family and are living with a sense of loss, few necessities, and uncertainty about their home and future.
Ruben and his wife Gabby come from working-class backgrounds. Two of their boys work full-time and assist with payments and other costs for maintaining their household. While a fire to one’s home is difficult for any family, the financial burden placed on working families can be even more daunting.
Ruben is actively seeking relief through their insurance policy, but this only serves to cover the minimum amount for assessed damages.
The Ramos family is trying to maintain a sense of normalcy given their circumstances; we hope this fund will work towards alleviating stress and financial burden for their family.
This fundraiser is set up to offer some peace of mind to them in the immediate weeks and months ahead and support them through this difficult time.
We greatly appreciate your support.
