House Fire Recovery for the Woods Family
Donation protected
Just a small back story about our family. We are a family of 5, with a loving companion. Tyson (Me, the Husband), Madison (my wife), Jackson (my 6 year old type 1 diabetic son), he was diagnosed at year and a half. Liam (my 11 year old son), Avah (my 14 year old daughter). Lastly our dog, Jasper a 110LB German Shepherd.
On the evening of Monday (9/13), after a long days hard work. We went to bed around 9PM. To only be woken up by a neighbor stating that the back of our house was on fire around 10:30PM.
I went to verify to only find that indeed, the house was on fire. It wasn't something I felt I could have tackled with the hose. So my first intention was to scramble, I got the kids out of the house, found my German Shepherd's harness, put it on. Sent him out of the house. Once I confirmed that the family was safely out of the house. I instructed my wife to call 911 and report the fire, I then run back in to the burning house to grab my son's medication, as his life depends on it.
By the time I am coming out of the house with Jackson's medication and a few personal belongings. Cell phones, car keys. I could hear sirens.
Even with the fast response of Fire Rescue, the house still took a big hit. Avah's room was a complete loss. The fire was so bad that smoke permeated through anything that wasn't touched physically by the fire.
The Woods Family is looking for some fundraising that would allow us to get back on our feet, help support us moving into a new place and start to replace lost belongings. Couch, TV, Bed's, bed frames, clothing, toys, books, toiletries, school supplies, food (due to smoke, and power being disconnected post fire) the food was also lost.
