House Fire Recovery For Tara
Donation protected
June 14th, for my dear friend Tara Hicks who lost her home in a fire at Bennington Hills apartments in Henrietta NY.
The fire started in the attic of the second floor and quickly spread throughout the whole building. Fortunately with the quick help of first responders, the tenants were lucky to make it out alive and without any injuries. As we are all so grateful everyone has made it out safely, they unfortunately have lost everything.
Tara had just moved in less than 3 months ago and due to her nocturnal epilepsy, she is on a fixed income and had not yet activated any renters insurance; so she quite literally lost everything. As traumatic as waking up in your home being engulfed with smoke can be, she now is mourning the loss of all her memories and belongings.
Tara is a such beautiful soul with a strong heart who struggles to regain her energy back from having seizures every night. She said “if it wasn’t for the first responders I’m not sure if I would have even woke up.” With this all being so surreal and hard to believe, we can all come together to help Tara get back on her feet.
We ask if you can take a moment; any and all donations would come with such gratitude. For those who might not be able to make an actual donation we ask to please share this project with the community.
Together we can make a powerful change. <3
