My name is Julie Burch (Downer) and I've taken it upon myself to launch this fundraiser for my brother Joe Downer and his family in hopes of generating support and assistance from our friends, family, and community.

On Friday evening, June 2nd, tragedy struck the Downer household as they lost everything in a horrific house fire. By the grace of God Joe, Chantel, and Joey, along with Olivia and their two dogs Sophie & Bentley, were fortunate enough to make it out unharmed, but not without experiencing the devastating loss of all their belongings.

We presume the fire was caused by a faulty propane tank that ignited beneath the grill after hearing a loud pressure release/hissing sound just 1-2 minutes after starting it up for dinner. However, the exact cause has yet to be determined by fire investigators. Despite the quick response from emergency services, nothing could be salvaged from the blaze, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

The enormity of the situation is becoming increasingly difficult to bear as they come to terms with the devastating loss. The thought of starting from scratch seems insurmountable and navigating each day with no possessions is a daunting task.
