Hi this is Joanne, Admin of ‘Whinmoor Past And Present’ Facebook group and Harpreet a member of our Whinmoor Community.

This morning, unfortunately we woke to a loud explosion. Following this, many fire engines arrived as the whole house was on fire.

Thankfully the family members manage to escape and local neighbours provided T-shirts and jogger bottoms for the family to wear while the fire service did what they do best.

The full house went up in flames and the family have lost all their belongings.

Due to the extent of the fire it has also impacted on the neighbouring homes leaving them also uninhabitable.

With this in mind Harpreet and I decided to arrange a GoFundMe page to try and support the families the best we can to help them raise funds to get back on their feet.

Obviously, this is a very traumatic and emotional time for the families and as a community we would like to try and support them anyway possible to help them the best we can.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small.
