House fire, displaced, in need of help for family

Hi. My name is Brian. I work in IT customer support at the Ellis corporate office in Newtown Square. I love my job and have a great customer base who I love to support. I have a great management team who I feel cares about me. I have been married to my wife, Jesseka for 22 years this coming August. We met in 9th grade algebra in 1991. We have been best friends ever since. My wife teaches middle school in Coatesville. I am the father of 2 young men, 18 and 21. My youngest son, Jeremy, is in his first year of college at Delco Community College. My oldest son, Julian, works hard as a supervisor at a capriottis sandwich shop. He will be getting married in Morroco in May. My father in law, and youngest son are coming with us as well. I am very appreciative for all of the blessings and happiness my family has had so far in life. My uncle Bill lives with us as well. He is retired and enjoys spending time with his nephews. They keep him young.

 

On Sunday, March 27th our house caught fire. The fire started in the backyard, by the back door and quickly engulfed the kitchen. The kitchen is completely destroyed. The fire department quickly took control, but the damage was done. Everything water damaged and covered in soot. All windows broken out and holes in ceilings so the firemen could check for fire.

 

Even worse than that, we lost our 3 beloved cats. My baby Kibbles was a shoulder cat who greated me virtually everyday by the door, reaching up for me to give him a boost up to my shoulder. He was on my lap that morning, purring, before the fire started. I went to get my hair trimmed and was waiting in line when my family called me home. I adopted him almost 11 years ago from a litter of three at the SPCA. My uncle lost his 2 cats, Baby and Skylar. They were a grumpy, old married "couple" for over 10 years. They were inseparable. We buried them the next day in my father in laws backyard.

 

Most of the house will have to be gutted because of the smoke and water damage. Mold, etc... We have insurance and have begun the process of rebuilding, but it will be slow, with additional expenses that have us stretched thin already. We need help with day to day expenses, and way too many other unforseeable expenses then I have room to type.

 

The house has been deemed uninhabitable until the insurance/repair process is over. The estimate is 5 months. We are safe and staying at our father in laws. There are already 3 people here and every room is either full or "double upped" plus the pets. My father in law is a good man who means well. However, he is 71, stubborn, and hasn't kept the house up well. It is in disrepair (the transition on the floor between the foyer and dining room sags. My uncle has health issues and my oldest son is type 1 diabetic. I am concerned about my families health and safety. We are working towards getting a long term air bnb, or something similar.

 

I opened this gofundme to get some help during this difficult time. Virtually everything was destroyed and we basically have the clothes on our backs. I created it not just for me, but my family. Inflation and gas are high and we have had to start from scratch. We will have a lot of unforseen bills while we rebuild. We are fortunate to be working and know that there are folks suffering around the world who have nothing. We just need help to get by and keep my family safe and secure until our house is rebuilt, then we can continue on for the next chapter of our families adventures.
