On the early hours of the May 3rd 2026, My family’s lives have changed after a devastating house fire destroyed the family home on the Wells Road, Nottingham as they were sleeping. My grandma has owned the house for 50 years there’s so many memories attached. Thankfully my Uncle Devern and his partner who were there made it out safely but they've lost absolutely everything only have the clothes they were wearing. We are all very shocked, as are the local community too.

Devern has worked as a caretaker at the local Primary school for over 20 years and will be taking time off recover from the shock and to start clearing and rebuilding.

Their home, all appliances and furnishings, all personal belongings and sense of stability are gone. They are now facing the difficult reality of finding temporary housing, replacing basic necessities including clothing, toiletries and beginning the long process of clearing and rebuilding the whole house.

We are asking for help to towards temporary accommodation, food, clothing and essential items, as well as the costs of rebuilding their lives. Any support gratefully welcomed, no matter how small it will make a meaningful difference during this incredibly difficult time.
