House Destroyed in Dixie Fire!
Hi, I'm Jennifer Wilson. I live here in Hidden Springs, Idaho with my husband Ted and our two kids, Ethan and Katie. My husband's entire extended family lived in Greenville, CA, which was destroyed by fire on 8/4/2021. The entire town is destroyed, along with my sister-in-law's (Tanya's) house, which was right in town. My mother -in-law (Vickie) and father-in-law's (Bruce's) property at the east side of town is currently threatened. Also displaced is Tanya's husband Brian, and their 3 children, Abby, 9, Brennen, 14, and Michael, 23 (who had his own own apartment in town), and Tanya and Ted's brother Shawn, his wife Kristina, and their daughter Brooklyn.
Most of our family is now staying with us in our house here in Hidden Springs, Idaho. Shawn and Kristina are staying with friends in Nevada. They are all just trying to process the fact that their homes, entire town and community, and places of work were completely wiped off the map within a matter of hours. We are currently trying to replace items that are immediately needed like clothes, shoes, toiletries, towels, sheets, blankets, etc. We have been getting many donations from you all - our generous and caring neighbors! Thank you! They are so grateful.
Many have asked about monetary donations so they can purchase the items they need. Also, they will need to have funds to start over (wherever that is), such as a deposit and first month's rent. Ted's parents are retired and on a very tight fixed income, and Tanya's husband Brian is currently not working since his place of employment has been partially destroyed by fire. Their situations are completely up in the air. They would like to disclose that they do have a small renter's insurance policy, but it will not cover everything they lost. The money raised from this GoFundMe will go towards find a new place to live for Brian and Tanya and their kids, as well as potentially Bruce and Vickie.
At this time, anything helps. And please feel free to pray for them! They would love that.
Sincerely,
The Wilson and Looney Families
