House damage emergency fund for Michael

Hi, my name is Emile.

For the past few years, my dad has been battling cancer.

I feel lucky to say that his condition is stable now, but following a long series of surgeries, chemo, and radiotherapy, fighting this illness has caused much financial instability and made it extremely difficult to provide him with a decent life.

In December 2023 a storm caused serious damage to the roof and windows of his house.

When it rains, water pours through the ceiling, and parts of the house have started to rot.

Additionally, his water heater broke down and he is unable to use hot water in the middle of winter and the cold wind is seeping through the broken windows.

At this point, the house is in such bad condition that we are running out of time before the place becomes completely impossible to live in.

Unfortunately, we are not eligible to take out a loan.

We don’t have anything near what it costs to get it permanently fixed and our insurance company is refusing to provide help.

This house has been my father’s home for the past 22 years.

He’s now 80 years old, unable to work after his surgeries and the house is in some ways his only sense of security and hope. But it’s become a financial nightmare and due to his illness, he is unable to relocate.

It is difficult for us to ask for help in times like these, but we are running out of options.

We realize that the goal of this GoFundMe is highly ambitious and we do not expect to reach it with donations fully.

But the closer we get, the higher the chances we have of fixing the damages.

Even the smallest amount is greatly appreciated.

All of the money raised will go to fixing the roof, putting in new and secure windows, getting a new water heater, and repairing all the water damage.
