HG/Bettibar Farewell

Hello  friends and supporters of Hourglass Tavern & Bettibar!

As many of you know we have determined with heavy hearts that the prudent choice is to close our doors at the end of September. The logistical nightmare that is HG/Bettibar under normal circumstances, and the variable unknowns and security issues, make it financially impossible to transition in this climate.  We are determined to close with our reputation and vendor relationships in tact.  

We hope our participation in the outdoor dining program has assisted in building a positive concept and promoting a welcoming energy of hard found normalcy on W46th for our community.

For those who’ve asked how they can assist, here would be the place for socially distanced support, although I would so prefer to see your beautiful faces. Know that we will continue service until the end of September with outdoor dining, and look forward to the next endeavor when we all can arrive on the other side.

We came in during a recession and go out in a pandemic. I carry no shame in that after our amazing 11 year run. My only regret is my inability to be brick and mortar and be present to receive you all in a place of familiarity and comfort which was the unyielding motivation since our inception and the continued inspiration throughout our run on New York’s famed Restaurant Row.  Know that you’ve all been the loving foundation and sure reasons for every bit of our otherworldly success!
