Hotel Quarantine Marathon 2021

I am here in Sydney hotel quarantine (HQ) again after deploying to Canada to assist in the wildfire operations from July to September.

I was in hotel quarantine last year when I completed the inaugural HQ Marathon for Charity 2020 - by running for 6.5 hours in little circles inside my hotel room - and raised a few $$ for charity in the process.

So this year I will be running the HQ marathon for Charity 2021!

So, on Friday 10 September, which is also my 50th birthday, I will start and finish a full marathon inside Room 740 of the Novotel Darling Harbour, Sydney - a total of 42.2 km, while raising funds for some worthy causes!

This year I am in a room half the size so it will be a much tighter circle, and I have calculated that around 3,500 laps of the room will get me close to the correct distance. I am also hoping for a sub-6 hour time....!

Any money raised will go to the same charities as 2020 - the Children's Hospital Burns Unit, Starlight Foundation and Westcare.

I totally understand that COVID will have impacted so many people, so I understand if you can't donate, although any amount will be a positive! $5 will help someone.
