Hotel quarantine fund for Alain and Gillian
Donation protected
Our family members Gillian and Alain D'Argent. are residents of Secret Harbour, Perth. The purpose for this page is to raise money to help them cover the cost of mandatory hotel quarantine upon return to WA
On the 1st of December their Daughter in Sydney took her life. They were advised to fly over to Sydney and told they could apply to return to WA on compassionate grounds. They flew to Sydney to collect her remains, and finalise her affairs. On the 8th of December Gillian and Alain applied for G2G pass with the intention to return home as soon as possible. Unfortunately on the 17th of December we received notification that this application was unsuccessful.
Our family has been heavily impacted by this tragedy and as such we took our case to the media to plead for compassion and ask that these grief-stricken parents be allowed to return home. We have finally been granted approval for them to return to Perth on the 1.1.2022 but have been told they need to quarantine in a hotel.
We can not afford the expense of hotel quarantine. As both Gillian and Alain are retired/retiring they have limited income and the expenses involved in sorting out their daughters' effects and cremation have taken a burden on their financial situation. They are mindful that they will still need to incur additional costs in the future when we are able to plan a funeral with family and friends.
The stress and associated anxiety created by the process and initial refusal for reentry has impacted our families mental health, while we are still dealing with loss. Gillian and Alain are proud people whose greatest wish is to return home and grieve in their family home as soon as they can. Should they be granted approval to return to their home for quarantine the funds will be donated to a charitable organisation dealing directly with mental health.
