HOTDOG HUSTLE: Racing to raise for Alpha-1 & Breast Cancer

This year, Jamie and I are wearing our iconic hot dog costumes (again!) and charging up the hills of Chagford’s Two Hills Race — not just for the fun of it, but to raise money for two causes that matter deeply to us.

We’re running for:

* Breast cancer research – supporting those affected by breast cancer in our local community.

* Alpha-1 UK Support Group – helping people living with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a rare and serious genetic condition.

️ Why Breast Cancer Support?

I’m running for breast cancer support charities because people close to me — and in our community — have been affected by breast cancer. It’s a disease that doesn’t discriminate, and its impact reaches far beyond the person diagnosed.

Whether it’s funding research, providing emotional support, or helping someone through treatment, your donation can make a real difference.

Why Alpha-1?

My running partner is dedicating his part of the run to Alpha-1 UK Support Group, a charity close to his heart. His dad and sister both live with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency— a rare genetic disorder that affects the lungs and liver, often going undiagnosed until it causes serious health problems.

His dad required a double lung transplant due to the effects of Alpha-1. That’s why raising awareness and supporting this charity is so important — it helps families like his get the care, knowledge, and support they need.

We’ll be splitting all donations between the two charities (unless you choose to support just one — links below). Every donation helps fund vital services, research, and support systems for families going through incredibly tough journeys.
