Hot Chocolate Employee Fund

In March I was forced to close my doors at Hot Chocolate in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The love, food and hospitality provided at Hot Chocolate were only possible because of the amazing team I had.  I was forced to lay off 38 members of my family.  This family has supported me and my business for the past 15 years. These people depended on our restaurant to support them and their families.

I am asking our community, friends and family who have celebrated their moments together in my restaurant to come together in support of our team. 

Please donate so that I can distribute the funds to my team during this pandemic. Every dollar helps.

500- Cookies every Quarter- A perfect gift for any family(or just for yourself), these "cookies every quarter" package includes a cookie tray for five in the spring, summer, fall and winter of the next year. These cookies are sure to bring joy and comfort to the recipients and are perfect for eating while social distancing.

100- Quarantine care package-
This is the perfect gift for your daughter who lives out of the town of your friend stuck in the apartment with her Craigslist roommates. A bag of Mindy’s famous Hot Chocolate and a big bag of the world's best cookies sent to whomever you like. This is a certain way to brighten someone's day.

50- Got the baking bug? - The perfect cookbook for being stuck inside! James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Mindy Segal will sign and mail you a book of recipes for the world's most delicious cookies. Your home will smell of brown butter and sugar and you will win the hearts of all those you bake for. This is an opportunity not to be passed up.

I am going to continue to ask for your support until every patron who has walked into doors of Hot Chocolate in the past 15 years donates what they can. Please think of the wonderful people who brought food and services to you and helped celebrate your moments big and small.

I am donating my time and talent to try and entice your support but ultimately I hope you will choose to give because you recognize the worth that these employees had in our community and in my family. The restaurant industry has been hard struck by this COVID-19 pandemic and I want to ensure that my staff is able to continue to support themselves and their families.
