On Saturday July 19th 2025, Hostin C., a member of the BMX community in Richmond, CA, had a crash which left him with a broken right femur.

He is a local at Dirt World Bike Park, where he rides and volunteers his time to maintain the jumps; if you've been to the park, you've probably seen him on the bright red Sunday 20".

After the accident, Hostin was transported by ambulance to Kaiser Permanente's Oakland Medical Center, where he underwent surgery to implant a rod in his upper leg. Like millions of Americans, he doesn't have health insurance and is highly stressed about the crushing medical bills coming his way. His recovery will be long and he could use our help to pay down that bill and get him through this struggle. Hostin, who is 18, recently graduated from Kennedy high school in Richmond. He was set to start a new job the week following his accident, but is obviously unable to work with this injury.

Aside from this he will have follow up doctors appointments and PT (Physical therapy) as his healing progresses, but does not drive, so will need to find other means of transportation… uber/lyft, bart etc. so even giftcards for these can help.
