Hoss's Crazy Expensive Medical Debt
Donation protected
The old saying is "the show must go on" and for my friend Hoss (Cory) the show went on. Unfortunately that meant being left in a rural hospital in Missouri. Touring personnel are expected to work long days to make the show happen, and we endure a lot because we don't get sick days.
While on tour Hoss (Cory) was feeling severe pain in his abdomen. He tried to tough it out because "the show must got on." When he couldn't fight through the pain anymore he went to the emergency room only to find he had appendicitis. While waiting to be treated his appendix burst and he had to immediately be rushed into surgery to avoid further damage.
After being in the hospital for a week he was finally able to head home. Long story short this visit helped rack up a bill of over $37,000. Being a touring tech means you are a freelance employee and rarely get health insurance, and Hoss (Cory) was no exception.
Hoss is an incredibly caring guy, going as far to make a roadie calendar in which all proceeds were donated to love/hope/strength, a bone marrow registry organization.
Hoss has worked with such bands as Reel Big Fish, St. Lucia, and Rebelution to name a few, and he needs our help so the show can continue to go on. Please help if you can, and share with your friends and family. Thank you.
