My name is Veronica, (Roni to most) and I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. I am a 32-year-old mother of two wonderful children. I currently work as a recess aide for a local school district, a role I cherish deeply because it allows me to spend time with children, which is my favorite thing to do. Unfortunately, this position is part-time, which means I do not have access to the full benefits typically provided by a full-time job. In addition to this, I also work part-time at Amazon. Despite the challenges of juggling two part-time jobs, I would not give up my work with the children for anything.

Recently, I experienced a severe health crisis related to my lupus, an autoimmune disease in which the white blood cells attack the body instead of protecting it. In 2013, I suffered a lupus flare-up that involved multiple hospital visits over several months. During that time, my gallbladder was severely damaged and eventually had to be removed. Additional complications followed. On November 5th 2013, I went to the emergency room, where they found I was internally bleeding in my stomach. I was put into a medically induced coma and awoke two weeks later, with no knowledge of this happening. The doctors informed me that if I would’ve waited a hour, I would’ve died. During surgery, they also discovered a blood clot in my lungs. This period was extremely difficult not only for me but also for my family and friends, who were uncertain about my survival.

My hospitalization lasted two weeks, during which I was unable to work. This absence has caused us to fall behind on our bills, and with the already challenging situation we face, it has made our circumstances even more difficult. I am reaching out to ask for any support you might be able to provide to help us get caught up on some of our financial obligations. Whether it be through donations or by sharing this message with others, any assistance would mean the world to my family and me.

I continue to experience lingering side effects from this flare-up, which have made returning to work a daily struggle. The journey to recovery is ongoing, and the challenges persist. Your kindness and generosity would not only provide financial relief but also offer tremendous emotional support during this difficult time.

Thank you very much for your time, your consideration, and for reading my story. Any help you can provide is deeply appreciated.

Warm regards,
Veronica
