Hospitalized after Edmonton Apartment Fire

Donation protected
This is for my loving partner Kelsey Johnston. She is currently in the Misericordia hospital in the ICU for Carbon Monoxide inhalation. She was living in the 4th floor (top floor) when a building wide fire broke out. During the blaze, the roof had caved in and her whole unit was covered in 4ft of debris. Edmonton Fire Rescue had managed to pull her out of her apartment through her 4th floor balcony. But not before she had serious smoke inhalation damage.

Kelsey is the most loving individual with the biggest heart. She had lost everything in this fire. All sentimental items along with material possessions. Edmonton Fire had confirmed that the top floor is a 100% loss. But the MOST devastating situation to Kelsey in this fire is the ongoing search of her three cats (Mufasa, Rizla, and Shiva). Although many pets were saved from the fire there has been no trace currently of her "babies'" whereabouts. Neighborhood search teams are currently conducting routine searches. She does not know yet their status as she is currently under sedation and undergoing hyperbaric oxygen treatments for Carbon Monoxide inhalation. She was initially conscious in the ICU and her only concern was the well being of her kitties. This is going to hurt her so much to a level I can't even begin to fathom. I have no idea how we are going to break it to her. I am not sure she is going to ever recovery emotionally from the loss of her "babies".

The cause of the fire:
Edmonton Police was already at the building before the fire had broke out as they were called in to help facilitate a court ordered eviction of an individual on the first floor. This individual resisted the police attempts in a 7hour standoff by barricading himself in his apartment. This individual then started a fire in his unit which broke out into a building wide blaze. This individual was taken into custody by the police and suffered no physical damage due to the fire. 7 people were hospitalized due to the fire caused by this individual.
