Hospital cost fund for Jeff Allison

I'm raising money for my sweet cousin, Jeff Allison and his family (daughter - Lexie; sons - Luke and Gage). His amazing wife and their beautiful mother, Erica just passed away from detrimental effects of COVID. She was 49. Erica was in the hospital for nearly 2 months fighting to stay with us. Unfortunately she lost the fight on November 23. The hospital costs are going to have lasting effects that may possibly be as bad as losing their wife and mother. And this is only the beginning of the story.

On September 18 of this year, Erica's mom, Barb, passed in her sleep. Erica was not able to be with her mom in person at the funeral because she had tested positive for COVID. She watched via computer from her car. On October 2, Erica was taken to the hospital with complications from COVID. A month to the day from her mom passing, Erica's step-dad passed from COVID. This was October 18. Erica had been in the hospital for weeks and was not able to say goodbye or attend the funeral. At this time she was still coherent enough to be aware of his death but, again, not able to mourn properly due to her own circumstances. Over the next several weeks, Erica continued to worsen. On October 22, she was put on a ventilator. Shortly after, the doctors had to sedate her in order for her to tolerate the continued discomfort of the ventilator. Her lungs were damaged and the doctors hoped the sedation and stillness would assist them in recovering. At one point over the last couple of weeks the doctors weened her off the sedation to see how she would respond. After several days, she did open her eyes and squeeze Lexie's hand. We all really hoped this was a good sign but on Nov. 22 her brain activity stopped. We all know in our hearts that she wanted to stay with us. She was the brightest light in the room. Her body just wouldn't let her continue on. She left us on November 23.

The past two months have been absolute hell on this sweet family. What I am hoping to do by raising money for them is to lessen the financial burden of something that is already so unbearable. Anything anyone can donate will be greatly appreciated and so helpful to them. Thank you in advance.
