Hospital Bills for Josephine Rawson

On Sunday, Josephine was walking by a fire at a campsite for a family reunion. She tripped and fell while holding a life jacket, and landed on the hot coals. She was AeroMed lifted two hours back home to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital as her injuries were too severe for one of the closer hospitals.
They sedated her and cleaned her burns. She has burns over approximately 10% of her body. Her hands got the worst of it, but her legs also got burned. The life jacket prevented her face and chest from any damage, luckily. She will be going back for a few weeks for bandage changing every other day. She is home but unable to do anything with her hands, including eating, drinking, or going to the bathroom. She is relying solely on her parents to help her with minimal movement.
Hospital bills and an AeroMed ride are not cheap. Average cost for the helicopter seem to run $12-25k for out of pocket.
