For the past few months our friend Tyler has been battling a disease called IGA Nephropathy.  Also known as “Berger’s Disease,” over time it decreases the ability for his kidneys to filter out blood.  For many of our friends, we first found out about his disease when he was hospitalized and learned that his kidneys were nearly in complete failure.  In addition to countless over-night stays in the hospital and medical bills, Tyler has been suffering from pain, fatigue and other side effects of his affliction, which he is in the 4th stage of. He has never once complained about the everyday changes he’s had to make to his lifestyle, but more importantly he’s never complained about the time and energy he’s put into battling this.  Tyler has clocked in hours and hours of surgery and dialysis, not to mention the weeks-long period of time when he was doing dialysis on his own, at home, and is still the same positive and high-energy person that his friends and family know.  It is because of his quiet strength and refusal to ask for help that us, his friends, want to ask anyone willing to help.  Stage 4 IGA Nephropathy means that Tyler soon will need a kidney transplant, which in addition to the existing medical/hospital bills will be daunting.  All donations are greatly appreciated and will benefit Tyler and his recovery.
