Please consider sponsoring me on my upcoming 50k hike to fundraise for Doctors Without Borders!
Five years after breaking my neck, I’ll be celebrating my birthday (on February 12) by hiking 50 kilometers in Joshua Tree, CA. I’ll be raising funds for Doctors Without Borders, a nonprofit that provides medical humanitarian assistance to the people who need it most.

In 2019, I broke my neck. As I headed into surgery to repair my shattered C1, I never thought I’d walk again, let alone hike.
For three long months, I wore a hard plastic brace, struggled to regain movement, and navigated life with a bunch of hardware drilled into my neck.
I was incredibly lucky to have the benefit of a loving husband, an amazing medical team, caring family and friends, and corporate health insurance.
Not everyone is so lucky.

Please consider sponsoring me with a tax-deductible donation!
In lieu of birthday gifts, I’d love your sponsorship, either by the kilometer or via a flat donation. This hike will raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
I chose Doctors Without Borders because they offer medical humanitarian assistance to people based solely on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation. Their teams of doctors, nurses, logisticians, and other frontline workers are often among the first on the scene when peoples’ lives are upended by conflict, disease outbreaks, or natural or human-made disasters.
