Hospice Cancer Care and Support for Felix Gonzales

Donation protected
Hello everone, my name is April Gonzales-Perez and I am posting this on behalf of my 4 sisters, June Rodriquez, Felicia Gonzales, Jessica Gonzales, Stephanie Gonzales and myslef. First and foremost, I would like to thank my sister Jessica. She has been the primary caretaker of my dad and has taken him to all of his doctor appointments and ER visits. If it wasn't for her we may not have been where we are today in regards to his diagnosis.

Recently, we have recieved some highly devistating news regarding our loving father, Felix Gonzales. After a multitude of hospital visits and different doctors in different areas searching for answers we finally recieved the answer no one wants to hear about any family memeber ESPECIALLY their father. If you know my dad he is not one to complain about ANYTHING, he hates hospitals! He was taken to the ER a few weeks ago with increased pain and discomfort. There, he was diagnosed with Cirrhois of the liver and was referred to a specialist. A couple more weeks go by while we are waiting for approval of his insurace and he asked to be taken to the hospital because he is no longer able to withstand the pain. Again, we knew it was serious because he does not complain. He was then taken into another hospital for a second opinion and there is where we recieved the unfortunate news. He was diagnosed with not one, but three cancers consisting of Liver Cancer, Colon Cncer and Bile Duct Cancer. Bile Duct Cancer alone is a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He has multiple tumors in his large intestine and a large one on his liver. We were informed his Bilirubin levels need to decrease before he can undergo surgery to remove the tumors. Within the couple days of his stay his levels decreased a bit which gave us hope. He was sent home and scheduled for an appointment a week later to check his bilirubin levels once again. This time his levels had increased dramatically. Before ending the visit the Doctor offered to speak with a specialist to determine if there were any other options we could take. Though we appreciate his efforts tremendously we later recieved the news that unfortunatly, there is no other option for him. His liver is failing and the cancer is spreading aggresivly rapid. Any further testing or attempts for treatment we continue to try would only trigger the cancers to spread more rapidly and do more damage than good. Sadly, our only option now is to move on to hospice to keep him as comfortable as possible. He is a fighter and is staying amazingly positive through this and said he's going to fight this as long as he can. His health is declining quickly and we devistatingly have to prepere for the worst. With faith from the lord and lots of prayer we will get through this! I know we shouldn't but it is extremely hard not to ask WHY. Our dad is the most loving, kind and caring person. Though it may sound biased, honestly, I cannot think of one instance where my dad has been mad at anything or anyone. I have seen him sad, happy, worried but never mad. So, we are reaching out to everyone in hopes of raising the funds to cover his hospital visits, any treament he has recieved already, travel expenses to and from the doctor visits, hospice payments if any and also the unfortunate services we all dread but know will eventually come. ANYTHING and EVERYTHING we recieve from everyone is greatly appreciated from our entire family including our dad. We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts in advance and understand if you are unable to donate monetarily. A simple share or a prayer will be taken equally. Thank you and God Bless.
