Hospice and funeral costs

Hello, everyone my name is Carolina and i write to you on behalf of everyone in my family but most especially on behalf of my brother Juan. He has been declared terminally ill, his doctors say he may have days to weeks left of life.
About a little more than a year ago we received a call, saying he was in the hospital. He was having some pain in his tooth and so he went to get it checked out. While waiting for his turn he began experiencing horrible stomach pain. At first, the doctors thought it was kidney stones, but they soon realized that it was much much worse. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Because the Cancer had already spread so much, the doctors had to be pretty invasive with his surgery. He lost so much weight in a short period of time and so he became very weak.

He took this photo about a month after the surgery, his children had come to visit him and he was so happy to see them.
He was getting stronger it seemed, but we didn't realize that the cancer was getting stronger as well. His doctors put him on different tyes of chemo. I can't begin to describe the feeling you get as you watch someone you love slowly start to lose themselves. How helpless you feel when they come back from a chemo session and they're just wiped out. We could all see him getting weaker, and weaker. Losing more and more weight, from the inability to eat as well as the nausea caused by all the medicine. About a month ago we took him to the E.R, he was having stomach pain again. It was discovered that he had developed an infection. Last week he was hospitalized after becoming incredibly  disoriented. It was there that his doctor told us there was nothing else we could do, his body wasn't responding to the antibiotics and the infection was spreading. His liver has now started to shut down and the best thing we can do for him now is to get him proper hospice care. Despite this long year battling Cancer we are losing. It is so hard to see him, to see how much this horrible illness has changed him. Its scary at times when he doesn't even recognize you, or seems lost in his own world.
As of right now we don't know how much Hospice care will cost us but from what we have heard it could be more than or up to $150 per day. We also have to consider his funeral arrangement wishes.  We are all trying to come to terms with all that has happened, as well as trying to remain strong for each other. Because of all this, we finally had to give in and reach out to our friends, family and anyone willing and able to help us out. I know this is the time where most people are struggling themselves to save money for their loved ones during the holidays, so I ask that you please share our story. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts, sincerely The Espejel/Nicanor family.
