Hosier Family Flood Relief

Hosier Family Flood Relief      We are posting this gofundme for the Hosier family of Kenesaw, Nebraska.  Tragically, their farmstead was flooded overnight on May 24 into the morning of May 25, 2020.  The flash flood was sudden and unexpected and within just hours almost 8" of rain fell directly within the area of the farmstead.  The waters rose all around the surrounding fields and roads until the family's safe exit was cut off.  The waters proceeded to flood the basement and continued to climb filling the first floor up onto all furniture, beds, and kitchen appliances, etc.  Power had to be turned off for safety and the family retreated upstairs.  They immediately called emergency services who tried everything they could to rescue them in the early hours of May 25th, but due to safety concerns the rescuers had to wait until daylight to save the family by air boat.      The Hosier family is made up of Chase and Darci Hosier and their five wonderful children: Kaleb 16, Jezreel 11, Nyah 9, Lilly 6, and Abi 3.  They also have one dog Charlie, three cats, six goats, three lambs, a hamster, and many chickens, guineas, and ducks.  As of 9 a.m. on May 25 almost all the animals were in a safe place where they could stay until hopefully flood waters recede.  The family is safe and is staying with local relatives in Minden, NE.      The reason that we are asking for the financial help is because of lost and ruined property due to the flooding.  In the basement they lost two filled deep freezes (all contents included), a brand new washer and a dryer, a water pump, a water heater, a reverse osmosis system, and many other stored away items.  Upstairs, beyond the damage to the house's structure (flooring, drywall, siding, studs, etc.), they will need to replace a bed, a chase lounger, two recliners, a couch, a dining table and chairs that seat eight, rugs, two bookshelves, a wood stove, a small kitchen table and chairs, a range, a fridge (all contents included), and other misc. items.  In the garage, another fridge (all contents included), a table saw, kids toys and bikes, dog and cat food, and again other tools and items will need to be replaced.  They have three other out buildings, many fences, animal feed and hay, small trees, and other property that is not listed here that will of course need replaced due to the flooding.  Beyond all of this is the vehicles that were ruined which include two mini-vans, a car, a tractor, and a truck.  Overall, you can imagine that these losses are devastating and probably exceed $20,000, but the family is maintaining high spirits and puts their trust in God.        We thank God that he kept the family safe and for the brave volunteer emergency service members of Kenesaw and Adams County.  In the end, material things fade away and so the real importance is that the family is alright.  But, any outpouring of financial support and/or replacement items that you may be able to donate would be much appreciated.  Please contact me, Tim Hiatt (brother of Darci Hosier), at [email redacted].  Stories of the emergency can be found here https://www.ksnblocal4.com/content/news/Flooding-overnight-in-northwestern-Adams-County-570742671.html  Thank you again for any help that you can provide and God bless.
