The devastation from Hurricane Idalia on Horseshoe Beach is heartbreaking. Many people have been lost their homes and belongings. The town is covered in debris that will take weeks, if not months, to clean up. Townspeople are in need of money to get back to safety, to repair structures, and to return to some sort of normalcy.
If you have watched The Weather Channel or other coverage from the storm, you may have seen the footage of Horseshoe Beach. However, it doesn’t do the devastation justice. The marina was wiped out. Many homes are completely gone, with countless others with major damage. Many families are without flood or hurricane insurance. The repercussions of this storm will be felt for a long time.
Horseshoe residents are caring, strong, and have a spirit of steel. We can not let Hurricane Idalia dampen their spirit of hope. Please consider contributing to the relief effort.
The funds raised will be given directly to the Town of Horseshoe Beach Disaster Relief Fund. If you prefer to make a check donation, one can be sent to Town of Horseshoe Disaster Relief Fund, PO Box 86; Horseshoe Beach, FL 32648
The organizer: Leslie Brown. I am not a resident of Horseshoe Beach, but it is my home away from home. My family keeps our camper parked there throughout the year and visit often. The community of Horseshoe Beach is filled with caring, good people. We have been fortunate they have taken our family in as part of them at every visit. I will withdraw funds twice a week and send a check overnight to the Town of Horseshoe Beach Disaster Relief Fund. Our goal is to get funds to the people as quickly as possible.
