HORSES POISONED!
My name is Daniel Joseph (23), and I am a student at Sierra College in California. My parents make their living by breeding horses in Israel. They own 12 purebred Arabians.
On Tuesday (17th of March), my father fed the horses with the new hay he'd just gotten. A few hours later, one of the horses started feeling bad, and soon afterwards all of the rest fell ill.
The vet diagnosed the cause as Botulism- a rare illness caused by a nerve toxin produced by bacteria (which was in the hay they ate).

This poisoning is SO rare, that there is no antidote for it in Israel; As it attacks the nerve system, the horses laid down, tongues outside, and my parents had to flip them over every few hours so they wouldn't get pressure wounds. The only thing they could do to support the horses was to run fluids and food through hoses into the horses' digestive systems-- which they are doing faithfully even now.
Even after long and continuous battles, we lost 9 of the horses (including pregnant ones), and it appears that none of them will survive. Even if a few will, they will be prone to other fatal illnesses.

My parents are in their late 50's and have been breeding horses for over 20 years now. They own the only High-Speed Treadmill in Israel, in addition to offering a wide variety of services, from training to diagnosing medical problems to shoeing issues. My parents begin every day at 5 AM and finish caring for the horses at 8 PM. They treat them with love and passion, and now they will be left with nothing to show for their hard work and devotion.
Unfortunately, they couldn't afford to insure the horses, and have debts and no income now. I and my 2 brothers, as students, don't have much to offer.
PLEASE HELP THEM OUT!
I appreciate each and every one that has been reading this post!!! Whether you would like to make a donation or not, please at least share this plea on your social media pages. Thank you so much!
