Our dear friends Jen and Paul lost everything in a house fire. We are grateful that they are safe, and especially for Paul as he tried valiantly to put out the fire until help arrived, but sadly the house was a complete loss. While they were able to save their dog, they lost their beloved 10 year old cat Lucky, who got his name because Paul rescued him after seeing him thrown from a car along a highway years ago. All of this has been an immeasurable loss, and our hearts are just broken for them.
The home was historic, and Jen and Paul were going to undertake its complete restoration, with plans to spend the rest of their lives there. The fire took their all of their possessions along with materials that they had purchased for the renovations, and immeasurable other things (like baby clothes, and family heirlooms that can't be replaced). This is going to be a hugely trying time for them, both emotionally and financially, and without the benefit of insurance.
This is where we step in. Keri and I have known and been close friends with Jen since high school in Hawaii. Over those years we have seen Jen give so much of herself to others, and she has helped pick us up more than once when we were down. When she found Paul, she found a kindred soul with the biggest heart. For all they have done and continue to do for others, we can only hope in this small way to do a little bit of the same for them.
We know they will be forever grateful for any help that you can contribute, no matter how big or small, and for our fellow Kaiser Cougars, let’s show Jen just how much she is loved by us all.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
