The Horn Family Flood Relief

Hi my name is Abby LeMaire I am a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana trying to raise money to help my best friends best friends Lindsay and Jarid Horn and their two daughters recover from the devestation of the historic flooding that hit our area August 13, 2016 with basically no warning of the severity.   This beautiful family was forced to evacuate their home in Lafayette, Louisiana on August 13 due to unrelenting rain and rising flood waters.  When Jarid went to check on his home August 14, the home was only accessible by boat and still had two feet of water standing in it.  The water line showed that the water was much higher at times.  Their furniture was ruined and will almost certainly need to be replaced.   The damage to their house is heartbreaking.


To add to this tragedy,   their home was not in a flood zone and therefore they did not carry flood insurance.  Their insurance company has told them that none of this damage will be covered by their policy.   
Lindsay and Jarid are two of the most selfless people I have ever met.  Their kindness and generosity never ceases to amaze me.  Lindsay once told me "We believe that if there is anything we can do to help then we are going to do it, because one day we may be the ones who need help."  Please help me give back to this family who is always willing to give to others.  We will use these funds to replace furniture, appliances, clothing and other losses as well as to pay for structural repairs.
